This tool is called Onlywire and it is a service for social bookmarking that is growing in popularity among bloggers. And that is no wonder, since in this day and age social bookmarking has become a must. But let me explain one step at a time.

So what is this social bookmarking you’re talking about?

Well, suppose you’ve just written an excellent article on your blog and need to spread the word about it. The easiest way of doing that is through social bookmarking, that is to submit this post to as many social media websites as possible. This will put your blog on the map and make your articles go viral!

You can manually submit your content to websites like Facebook, Twitter and so on but this could take you hours to do and don’t forget that time is the most valuable asset to anyone and especially internet marketers! You need to be as effective as possible.

Is Onlywire really useful for you?

So why is Onlywire an alternative? Because you can social bookmark your content automatically to 42 websites in only a few minutes! It is also a very easy to use tool. And it works for all the main social networks such as Delicious, Digg, Facebook, Mixx, MySpace, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Twitter and so many more! You will only have to create accounts on these websites once, and then your content will be just one click away from submission every time you need it to be.

So, on to the technical part: you need to install the OnlyWIre Plugin for WordPress and to download and install the Onlywire Submitter client which will go on your taskbar.

At the end of your every blog post you will find the Onlywire Button which you need to click on and then only fill in your tags and a short description because the title and URL are filled in automatically; press “Post Bookmark” at the end and it’s done! You will still have to one more thing and that is to right click the Onlywire icon on the taskbar and choose “Check for Work”.

This is all you have to do!

To be completely honest, Onlywire does have its rate of failure but from the 42 available bookmarks you will always get at least 30 and that is a good percentage.

One other thing you need to keep in mind is that Onlywire has its free version and then the paid one. The free version allows you to bookmark 300 times (each time you send a post to a site is counted) and the paid version starts with 10$ for 1000 posts per month. I would say that if you use it for your blog and you make on average about a blog post every 2 days, this could be more than enough. But if you only write from time to time then the free version is perfect for you!

So even with the failure rate that I’ve heard people complain about, Onlywire still gets you 30 to 35 bookmarks for every post you make, and that’s a good outcome for your minimal effort. And that button at the end of your posts also allows people to share your content on any website they want!
