Make Quick Money Online – Keyword Targeting

Many people are looking for the fastest and cheapest way to make money at home online, and the most efficient way to achieve SEO optimization. The best way – known as “Keyword Targeting” and sometimes referred to as “Keyword Sniping”, is misunderstood.
First of all, the concept of keyword targeting is based on looking for specific “long tail keywords”. These are keyword phrases of three words or more which are relevant to the subject matter of the product being sold.
Yet many people also misunderstand how the term “long tail keywords” got its name. The name didn’t come from the fact that the phrases are long. It comes from a graph of search volume against phrase popularity.
Imagine a graph where low-to-high search volume is on the vertical scale and high-to-low phrase popularity is on the horizontal scale. On such a graph you’ll see that the most basic and popular one or two word keyword phrases have high popularity and high search volume (and TREMENDOUS competition). But the longer and more specific keyword phrases tend to have much lower popularity and much lower search volume (and much less competition).
Take the phrase “weight loss” as an example. It would be impossible to achieve page one status on Google with this phrase because it has 347 million competitors. If you lengthen the phrase, however, the competition goes down dramatically. For example, the phrase “weight loss after pregnancy” has 43,600 competitors as of this date. Moving further down the scale, there are only 8 competitors for the phrase “weight loss programs after pregnancy”.
If you recall the graph we talked about earlier, you would see a “suicide ski jump” type curve. It would start at the top left with the broad one or two word phrases and continue steeply downward as we go through the longer, narrower, more specific keyword phrases.
The name “long tail” comes from the position of these longer, more specific keyword phrases on the long tail of the graph. These phrases are far more numerous than the short, broad ones, and they each have far less competition. That’s why they are absolutely necessary for any success in making money fast on the Internet.
In fact, it’s because of this low competition that you stand a pretty good chance of ranking on the first page of Google with some of these phrases. Of Course, it’s also true that you have small search volume for each phrase. But if you include enough of them in your article marketing campaign, you can achieve pretty high monthly traffic overall.
So far, this has all been theoretical. The question is – does any of it really work? You will find that intuition and instinct, as well as experience will all be factors. But this is where most people misunderstand how to target.
You see, you have to do more than just compare competition to search volume. You must also consider the nature of the competition among your top ten competitors for that phrase. Why? Because unless your phrase appears on the first page of Google, you won’t get ANY traffic. For example, if each of your top ten competitors has numerous high quality backlinks from credible sites, and they each have a Google PR of 4 or better, you will have problems appearing on the first page of results for that phrase.
Some who are experienced in “keyword sniping” will be able to pick out these phrases. They will have a good trade off of competition versus search volume, but they will also be able to compete in the top ten slots.
