Contrary to popular belief, building a website does not mean that people will actually visit your website. There are many factors that will make your website have a perceived value to the search engines. If your website has value, your site will show up with a high ranking in the search engines. Blogging is one way to achieve a high perceived value and to get a high ranking search for your keywords. So why is blogging so important? So how do you do this?
You need to “feed” the search engines with new, relevant, timely content if you want your website to be popular in search. Every website that updates its content regularly is a considered a blog. CNN, FORBES, CNBC and your local newspaper websites are defined as news blogs as they enter new relevant content on an up to the minute basis. The frequency of their updates is what makes them the most popular news blogs according to the search engines. These news blogs simply add more newsworthy content than other sites in their class. As a result, the search engines find them to be more newsworthy than other smaller news sites and apply a higher rank in search.
How often you update your blog is a the biggest factor to how high you appear in the search engines. The more often you update, the more important your web blog is considered to the search engines. It’s a guarantee that a blog that updates daily will appear higher than a competitive blog that updates weekly. Both blogs will appear higher in the search engines than a another related blog that updates once a month. If you want your website to perform better, you need to update your blog more often.
What should you blog about? You should concentrate on the topics that are relevant to the subject of your website. If you are selling widgets, write about widgets. Google and other search engines use “algorithms” to see that your blog topics are related to the topics that they perceive to be relevant to the topics discussed on your home page. Remember, writing irrelevant content will not help you. So stay true to the topics that your website home page indicates.
When writing articles for your blog, be sure to maintain keyword and related keyword consistency. Reflect the true meaning of what you want to convey to your readers in your articles by having your website’s title and description optimized for SEO. If your title and description match the content of your blog articles, you will find that your website will increase in rank in the search engines as you continue to write. The search engines love regularly updated blogs, so to increase your websites popularity start blogging regularly today.
