Keyword research. You’ve probably heard the term, but do you really know how powerful it is?.
Essentially, keyword research is the practice of researching the target words for your online marketing strategy. This could be for your superfastresults, blog posting, article marketing, bookmarking and even domain registrations.
It’s pretty easy to find out what words are being typed into Google, etc but the numbers behind these words are what’s important. For instance, did you know you can find out whether someone is likely to want to buy something simply by looking at the statistics behind a keywords? Could it be any better?!
You can really ramp up your keyword research by using some simple tools that will help you analyse the statistics behind your keywords.
Whether you choose to use free tools, trial versions or very expensive ones is up to you. There are options for every level of expertise and every kind of budget. In the end, it really depends on your budget, the amount of time you have and the return on investment (ROI) you expect from your internet marketing program.
Here are some of my favourite keyword research tools:
Google Keyword tool – it’s free and it lets find out how many searches a certain keyword gets, what related keywords are there what the trend associated with the keyword is. It even lets you find out what keywords are used by your competitors.
Market Samurai (MS). It’s used by many advanced internet marketers, including James Schramko, Ed Dale and Andy G.. You can check the number of searches, the OCI percentage and the competition. There are even features which let you monitor you SEO rankings.
Keyword Spy. This is a pretty cool tool to monitor which keywords your competitors are targeting for the likes of Google AdWords or Pay Per Click Marketing
