Developing A Following And What To Do

When you first start your online business and people don’t know who you are, it is important that you develop a following. You will be successful if you do it the right way. What we want to do is to look at your product or service.
As social media takes off, there are more and more doors that are opening up for other people. You want to start off by building a powerful persona. You have to be someone that people want to hear and listen to. I’m fortunate for I write tons of articles that speak to people all over the world. I do have a fair amount of people that follow the work that I do.
When I wrote my first few articles, I didn’t have a following of people that would read my stuff. You have to keep this in mind when you are talking about this topic. You have two camps. There’s my corner and there is the other one. The other one just says that it is a numbers game when it comes down to using social media.
Have you ever heard of someone saying this to you? We have a million viewers. Saying something like that doesn’t really mean anything. You have lots of people all over the globe that can say that about their product or service, but it doesn’t really matter because no big impression is being made on people.
It’s not the number of followers that you have that is important; it is the number of people that interact with you that’s important. When they retweet you, it is like they are having a conversation with you because they are telling their friends all about you. They see you as putting out good information.
When I work with a new client, we’ll start by building a persona for them. We ask a few questions. What makes you compelling and interesting? What can we do? How do we need to show up to be consistent? People want to see a personal brand to connect with.
When you use social media it can be a one on one deal. You’re putting a personal brand on something that has a voice. It doesn’t matter if it is a large company, you have to stay consistent and you have to plan it all out. It is so very important that you do that.
Give people what they want. It doesn’t matter who is going to be listening to what you have to say. It doesn’t have to be that impressive, just get out and deliver something to your audience.
You have to be what your customers expect you to be. If they are looking for something, then give it to them. When you go about developing a following it is all about information and giving it to them on a consistent basis.
