The most important part of a landing page or even an article is to have a compelling headline, because it is the headline that people see first and will read further based on the interest generated because of the headline. You might find the following tips helpful in making a powerful headline:

1) Way before you sit down to write your headline, contemplate for an instance on what you want to accomplish with your article or web page. Are you selling something on it or are you just sharing great information you feel your readers will enjoy?

2) Next figure out what problems you are going to help your readers solve. Your visitors care more about the problem they are attempting to solve than they are with what you are trying to get them to purchase.

3) Write four to five different versions of headlines that you think take into consideration the above two steps. Then decide which of them will most appeal to your prospects as something they would like to read. For instance, instead of “Introducing Email Marketing Tool…”, write something like “Build An Opt-In List Full Of Hungry Subscribers Readily Awaiting To Hear From You” instead.

4) Make sure you include the word “you” on the headline as it will immediately connect your reader with your web page or article.

5) Use words that gives emotion to your sentences. Get a grip of what your readers will feel and try to sympathize with them. For example you can use a topic like “Are you tired of all me too weight loss programs?”. This topic will instantly appeal to a reader who has gone through many weight loss programs and isn’t able to find a good one. If you are finding that the headline isn’t grabbing attention, try to reword it or use a new headline and keep changing until you hit the right one.
